19th Century Places

Nineteenth-century Fairfield was a quiet town with many farms and open spaces, as well as historic homes, country houses, and small stores. Like the generations that followed, children in the nineteenth century enjoyed playing in Fairfield’s woods, hills, and coastline. Sledding and skating were popular during the winter months, and the beaches and waterfront became an attraction in the late 1800s.
