The Henry Thorp house was built in 1851 for Henry Sturges Thorp of New York. Thorp used the house as a summer residence. After Thorp died, the property eventually got sold to W. Roscoe Bassick.
The Henry Williams house was built in 1850 by Henry Williams. Williams was the former carpenter of Annie B. Jennings and his wife taught at the Sherman School.
